a.Lord House and Block House: Unfortunately, the Township lost both of its lifeguard/restroom structures during the storm. Presently, the Township is moving forward with the reconstruction of the Lord House based on the fact that a contract had already been awarded for this work prior to the storm. We are optimistic that the Lord House will be completed by mid summer of 2013, subject to favorable weather conditions. The Township will be considering options with respect to the reconstruction of the Block House once work is underway for the Lord House.

b.Boardwalk: The Township is currently preparing plans and specifications for the reconstruction of the boardwalk in Ortley Beach and will be seeking bids within the next 30 days. We expect this project to be awarded in February with construction beginning in early spring. We expect to have the project complete by mid August of 2013, subject to favorable weather conditions.

c.Bulkheads: There was damage to over 700 linear feet of Township-owned bulkhead located on the mainland and barrier island. The Township is currently preparing plans and specifications for this project and will be soliciting bids in late January with construction starting in the spring. The total construction period is estimated to be 120 days. Please note, bulkheads located on private property are the responsibility of the property owner to replace and the Township cannot expend public funds to replace bulkheads on private

d.Ortley Beach First Aid Squad Building: The OBFAS building was damaged in the storm and will need to be demolished. The Township is in the very early stage of plan development for a new building at that location. No construction time frame has been set yet.
