The U.S. EPA invites the public to attend a meeting to discuss the results of toxicity testing done on the Reich Superfund site in Toms River.  The meeting will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 from 6:00 pm-8:30 pm at the Ocean County library.  Please see flyer for details.

 

 

 

 

 
Trash & Recycling Collection Message PDF Print E-mail

Trash and Recycling collections will resume Wednesday, one day behind schedule. Tuesday and Wednesday’s routes will be collected on Wednesday and Thursday, respectively. There is no regular recycling collection scheduled for Thursday.

Sanitation collections will be on a recovery schedule for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday routes. Please place your trash container curbside on your regular collection day, with collection being made no more than one day late. Friday’s routes will be collected on Friday.

 

 

 

 
Sandy Relief Home Access Plan PDF Print E-mail

The New Jersey Division of Disability Services would like to provide you with a brochure for the Sandy Relief Home Access Program, formerly the Sandy Relief Modular Ramp Program, which is funded through a post- Sandy Social Services Block Grant.

By expanding the program, the Division can now offer additional accessibility options to individuals where a ramp is not possible. For eligible residents, modular ramps will continue to be the first course of action and a vertical platform lift only will be considered if a ramp is not a safe and/or feasible option.

NJ Devils Alumni Clinic PDF Print E-mail

Toms River youth hockey players were treated to a private skills clinic, coached by New Jersey Devils alumnus Colin White. On Wednesday night, the former NJ Devil, who played on the team from 1999-2011, conducted the clinic to teach local youth hockey players a variety of drills and techniques to hone their skills, while learning the fundamentals of hockey. Ocean County DEP and FEMA Open Houses PDF Print E-mail

Ocean County, New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, and FEMA are kicking off two Ocean County Open Houses, which is the next step in the mapping process for the Preliminary Flood Insurance Rate Maps. These Open Houses will allow residents of Ocean County who are in flood zones to speak with representatives from FEMA, NJDEP, and Ocean County about their risks, updated flood hazard maps, flood insurance, and flood risk mitigation. To accommodate the residents of the County, there will be the same Open House on two different days, at different venues, one in the Northern part of the County and one in the South. Residents can attend either event.

Two New Affordable Housing Programs for Low- to Moderate-Income Families Impacted By Superstorm Sandy (Posted 1-7-15) PDF Print E-mail

Trenton, NJ – The Christie Administration announced the launch of the LMI Homeowners Rebuilding Program and the Tenant-Based Rental Assistance Program, two affordable housing recovery efforts to assist low- to moderate-income (LMI) families impacted by Superstorm Sandy. Simultaneously, the Sandy Recovery Housing Counseling Program was initiated to assist these families in accessing the two housing programs and a wide array of available services.

Toms River Township, in partnership with Ocean County, is requesting input from the community to help identify the community's present and future needs.

By completing this online survey, you will help the Township & County prepare its 5-year Consolidated Plan to receive Federal Grants from the U.S. Dept. of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
