Sensory Activation Trailer

On July 12, 2022, the Toms River Mayor's Advisory Committee on Developmental Disabilities cut the ribbon for their new mobile Sensory Activation Trailer.

New mobile sensory trailerA sensory activation vehicle is a space which is designed to help an individual with a sensory need to regulate the brain’s negative reaction to external stimuli. The vehicle provides a low-stress, controlled environment to work through the stressor and allow the person to re-enter the preferred activity with a new confidence. This type of vehicle can benefit those with Autism, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, PTSD and more.
