Do I need a Tree Removal Permit to take down a dead tree in my yard?

A Tree Removal Permit is required prior to the removal of any standing tree, alive or dead. However, the $75 permit fee is waived for the removal of a dead tree. If clear photographic evidence that a standing tree is dead is not submitted, the Township Planner may require a letter from a Licensed Tree Expert or Certified Arborist be submitted that confirms that the tree is dead.
